225) Ask resort workers what they do in the summer - no one will have thought to ask them this question before.
226) When standing in a busy lift queue, use the tip of your ski pole to pop the binding of the skier in front of you - it will help them get to the front of the queue more quickly and they will thank you for your selfless assistance.
227) Most resorts operate a free ski test service. You will find the test skis on ski racks outside mountain restaurants - choose to test the ones that look the newest and most expensive. No need to return them to the same place - any other mountain restaurant will do.
228) Sking is a very fashion concious sport - make sure yous skis, boots, poles and hat are colour coordinated with your ski wear.

224) On chairlifts with a moving 'carpet in front of them be sure to shuffle backwards so that you remain in the same place, it's great fun and the lifties think it's really fun and shout their approval
225) If the piste bashers are on the piste make sure you do a nice wide snowplough just in front of them to warn other skiers.
226) Always allow ski schools to go first if offered a child to share your seat always say no and push the child back towards the liftie or instructor.
227) If you find a ski school class is blocking the piste always stop the instructor and remind him of his duties and responsibilities.

Don't waste your money on expensive, uncomfortable ski boots. Just take your normal hiking boots to the ski shop and ask the ski tech to fit them to the longest skis in the shop. Everyone will think your a pro skier.

233) Avalanches are commonly set off by others skiing or boarding above you. This is why the avalanche risk is highest on busy pistes, where there will be a great many skiiers at any time. Be sure to always carry a full avalanche kit in the largest rucksack you can find when skiing on piste.
234) Don't under any circumstances transfer your rucksack to your front when riding on chairlifts. This can make it hard to lower the bar, and so is extremely dangerous. Keep your rucksack on your back at all times.

241) Winter tyres allow you to drive normally no matter how much snow and ice you encounter.....
242) Never visit ski resorts with less than 250km of local piste - They'll be crap.
243) Always assume the comments of snowheads with 1000+ posts are those of a man/woman with infinite experience and expertise. Don't question their knowledge of anything....ever.
244) Any posts from snowheads with less than 10 posts are almosts certainly those of someone with no knowledge absolutely.....particularly in relation to ski-ing.

252) Snowboarders - always try your best to get onto a six person chairlift sitting in the middle of five skiers. When you get off, they will appreciate nothing more than your board taking up half the width of the chair and they relish the challenge of trying to avoid getting tangled up with you.
253) The Italians welcome a hard slap when they try to push in front of you in a queue - don't disappoint them
254) If you find yourself losing control on an icy bit don't worry - someone will break your fall for you

If you hear an explosion, there will be an avalanche; you must point your skis straight downhill immediately and not turn until you have reached safety at the bottom of the piste.

257. New skiers are entitled to use the the ski school fast lane at lifts as they too are learners.
258. Never let on you're new to the sport when the ski instructors hand you a three year old to take on the lift.
259. Play your ipod really really loud so everyone can enjoy your tunes instead of soaking up the scenery.
