Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lift passes

Hi, complete beginners off to Avoriaz for a week. We are booked into ski school for 2 hours a day and I guess that we will most probally only ski ! for another hour of so each day. What lift passes should we get? Should I but the passes in resort?

Get them in resort definitely. The pass you get for ski school will give you plenty of time for lessons and an extra couple of hours skiing. If you decide you fancy lesson and whole day of skiing then just get a full day pass then. Doing this gives you a lot more flexibility to do what you want when you want without feeling that you're wasting money spent on passes you don't need.

tigger99, I am not sure that you will get a pass with ski scholl but you might not but probably will (thinking about the Avoriaz topography) need one for your first couple of days anyway.

Plus, at the moment, and fingers crossed the current falls will help matters - but at present you will almost certainly only want Avoriaz passes. - If you've never skied before, and making a huge assumption about your learning ability and fitness, you may not want to ski much after a 2 hour lesson and you are unlikely to get to a position where you need to go much further than the local Avoriaz slopes.

Buy when you get there.
