Poster: A snowHead

SZK,
still tweaking the fit of the boots I bought at the zoo last season.
I have chunky calf muscles - not getting smaller as I'm doing a fair bit of cycling. Is there any reason why I shouldn't remove (i.e. take off rather than move up and down) the rear height adjuster inserts to create a bit more space around the base of the calf muscles?
cheers,
J

jedster, No mate, rip it out. Try a small heel lifter too, to help extension of the achillies and reduce firing of the calf muscle. Cheers.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

jedster, When I had my new boots fitted I had a problem with large calves and the fitter did just as SZK has suggested - he added those small heel lifters - I was surprised at the difference it made.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Got me thinking this has.
Mrs IMT has pretty large calfs due to a medical issue (lower leg just seems to have swelled a bit) She has a pair of Salomon Performa (or something). She stuggles to even do the boots up in the morning (my help certainly makes this easier). How would removing the height adjuster make any real difference, and also, what kind of heel lifters would you suggest trying?
Cheers
IMT

IMT, Kork heal lifts work best we use a 12mm in extreme cases the lifter goes between liner and shell, not in the liner! Remove spoiler and bin it, then the liner will need remoulding to accomodate the new height of the instep. I thank you.
