at 1200 (lunch time) the snow turned to sleet then rain at resort level. Higher up pistes getting a much needed extra cover.

1900. really raining heavy now. village is deadly with water covered ice.

I should also add that the rain has washed away all the atmosphere of the village. Everyone has long faces, pubs clubs are half empyt (just come back 0100 friday morning). friday set for same weather. Time to pack and go home.

In two weeks time, Val will probably be smothered by two metres of freak snow, and people will blame global warming for preventing people getting to ski resorts. Everyone will be forced to relocate to lower resorts like Abondance, BSM, and St Martin de Belleville where the snow's not so deep...
