Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Whistler Lessons/Hire

Question - are we better pre-booking lessons with Ski Esprit ($209 for three days online) through the Whistlerblackcomb.com site, or will the SkiWorld rep have better deals that that?

And does anyone have recommendations for ski/boot hire places?

(10 sleeps to go!) Very Happy

Helen101,

We have always gone independently so I dont know if tour ops get deals on ski school. Since the whole ski school operation is run by the mountain I would imagine that they charge everybody the stated price, but I could be wrong on that. Others might know.

As regards ski hire I have used Summit on various occasions and have had no hassle at all. You can do it all online. They are open early to late. They have their main shop just yards from the Whistler gondola and a few yards more from the Blackcomb gondola(I imagine they have other shops as well but that is the one I use). You get free overnight storage for skis and free day storage for your ordinary footwear, so you dont need to walk there/back in ski boots from your accomodation. The link is

I would wait until you get there for deciding on hire - often the place you stay has a 10-15% discount somewhere, could be Summit, could be Affinity. They don't always make these clear but if you ask at your accom they'll have something

Helen101, we booked our lesson when we got there (just got back). and I think the discount period has just started too. We did a super group and there were only the two of us. Was excellent.

Oooh - the endless possibilities for spending more money Smile (Or saving it - depending on how we look at it)
I've found shops offering 20% discount for advance online booking (Summit and Affinity), and discounts on lessons through the WhistlerBlackcomb site, and at this rate I'll dither until we're there and it will all be academic anyway! rolling eyes
