Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi

Has anyone stayed at either the Hotel Pic Blanc in Alpe D'Huez or the Hotel Des Alpes in Les Menuires?

We have managed to get out of holiday to Andorra this Sunday (flight changed so allowed to move holiday!!!) so trying to work out where to go, and we have come down to 'depends how decent the hotel is' as both resorts appeal to us!

Thanks for any answers!

The Pic Blanc will be better than the Hotel des Alpes (even allowing for the fact that the Hotel des Alpes has been refurbished since the last time I was in it).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Stayed at Pic Blanc last March, excellent hotel situated at base of lifts and main ski pass / shops area (2 mins walk) (at quieter end of resort), 5 min walk to the Irish bar whtaever it was called.

Hi,
Stayed at Pic Blanc for New Year 05/06. It is a very good hotel. Nice rooms, comfortable and well furnished/equipped, reasonably spacious. The restaurant is very good, food was excellent, service can be a bit slow. The evening meal is generally your evening's entertainment. The bar service could be a bit hit and miss early on and was closed during the day, so if you happened to find yourself in the hotel during the day you couldn't get a drink.
It has a very nice swimming pool.
It is in the Bergers area of the resort and so is well located for the pistes, not so much for the resort centre, bit of a trek to the main streets. Having said that there is a commercial centre across the road with bars, restauarnts, shops, supermarket, lift pass office, etc etc.

HTH a bit
