Been kind of neglecting this in favour of trying to peer off into the distance but there will be a bit of cold front action over Switzerland, Western Austria and Northern French alps tonight and into tomorrow morning. Locations exposed to the North west favoured, FL lowering, so snow probably initially above 1800m or so lowering to below 1500m by the morning.
Probably just a few flakes in France, I guess Avoriaz and Flaine might catch a few cm.
The likes of the Englebergers and Arlbergers could be looking at maybe 10-15 cm I guess.

That's my interpretation of 06z GFS and the latest fax charts.
Just checked Meteo Suisse, they have the snow/rain line at 2000m tonight lowering to 1200-1500m by morning.

This kind of chat is what you normally get on the scottish ski forums!!!
It's always full of knife edge senarios between freezing levels staying just low enough as weather
front moves in to give snow, or the timing going wrong & it pi**in it down with rain
Scary that this is the Alps in Jan you are talking about
