Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Got flashed going through the Mont-Blanc tunnel two years ago. Armed italian cop stopped me at the exit, gave me a very firm 'come with me' and took me into a back office. Fortuately it was only a 40 - odd Euro fine, no rubber hoses and no points Very Happy

They were nice as pie once I coughed up the cash saying that I had 'paid my debt to society'. I was doing 70mph in a 70kph limit Embarassed Lesson learned.

you wont get away with much in the mont blanc tunnel!!

Less than one percent of the foreign registered cars are pursued if they are flashed by unmanned speed cameras in France. They simply do not have the resources. Last winter, I was flashed three times on the way down between Metz and Dijon in Belgian plates. Heard nothing back ever. Similar experiences earlier confirm this rule. Unless in the last year something radical in their collection resources have happened, it is very unlikely anyone ends up paying anything.

As for the manned radars, payment is on the spot. I have never been given fines on basis of elapsed time at the peage - I wonder how the information would get to the police, after all, the peage operation is at its best completely automated and one drives through in a matter of seconds with a credit card.

Not been done for speed at peage... only for causing a whiteout to the cars behind due to 2.5ft of snowdrift still on top whilst driving from Les Gets to GVA. Stopped as requested, and created a snowdrift on the hard shoulder, but still created a white out with the residual snow that we couldn't reach.

On the plus side, ... with current snow conditions, there's little chance of that being a problem at the minute. Shocked
