Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all,

I am not in any sense a snowhead... yet

I went on a first ski trip to Cortina a couple of years ago... loved it, altho Cortina was QUIET... now I wanna go somewhere else

dunno, ideally I'd like to be high, surrounded by beautiful mountains, staying in a lovely chalet with great food, in a resort which is youngish and yet a bit characterful hopefully... not vast and industrial anyway... and not full of English pubs

when I went to Cortina I went with a friend... now it looks like I'll have to go on my own, unless I can maybe hitch up with a group from here ... does that kind of thing happen???

accommodation when you're on your own looks kind of tricky... have visited igluski + ifyouski...

I was thinking of Verbier... any views?

any advice on resorts/strategies for finding a good chalet/a group to go with ... appreciated

Although on a more serious note- you might want to have a look at the thread ( someone clever please do a link!) Ok its not to Verbier but it still begins with a V (Val Thorens) and could be a chance to ski/ board with like minded individuals etc

as Nade says there are two more events this year where everyone is welcome, the MSB (mid-season bash) to Wengen in March and the EOSB (end of season bash) to Val Thorens at the end of April.

If you look at the snowEvents forum you will find loads of information on each of these.

Equally, other people advertise from time to time that they need an extra person (or two), so keep your eyes open for those threads.

mrodent Laughing As Nadenoodlee has said, there's also the End of Season Bash and the Mid Season Bash. Two great snowHead get togethers that our great leader is organising, to Val Thorens & Wengen.

Plus apart from the 2 official Bashes mentioned above there are quite a few snowheads meeting up for other trips, have a browse round the forums and you'll find several threads where others like yourself are wanting to either join a group or have spare spaces going.
