Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Brussels - In a Day

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We are thinking about about catching the train to Brussels, from Paris, for a day trip. For those who have been to Brussels, how would you spend a day there? What's worth seeing, doing, eating, drinking...

Were there for 2 days in October. Grand Place would be first port of call. Really fantastic square with amazing gothic architecture. Restaurants surronding it were not over pricey either. Buy some Leonidas chocolates (their shops are everywhere) and find a cosy bar and order a Leffe blonde beer, then eat said chocolates. Go to the Tintin shop (the cartoon character). The Royal Palace was interesting as you could walk through underground roads that have since been covered over by the present palace. If you could, go to the Expo 58 site which has the Atomium structure. Probably about 10 minute drive (taxi)? outside the city. Really amazing. Looks like something out of a 1950's sci-fi film and it's huge, with a restaurant in one of the connecting balls. For an interesting bar go to A la Becasse (11 Rue de Tabora) where they sell something called lambic which is an ale mixed with wine (I think). The drink was disgusting but the bar was lovely, all oak panels and candles. We really enjoyed Brussels and would definitely go back. Have a good time.
