Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dilemma - should I stay or should I go ?

I'm in two minds as to whether I should bother booking up a trip this season - I can only go sometime in the next four weeks and only for a short break. What would you recommend ??

James.

icicle, yep, go snowHead . But just book the flights and consider where the places are with snow at the moment (just in case things don't change). Hopefully by the time you go the situation will be much better, but if it isn't it just means that the transfer drive is an hour longer.

No worries, do it wink

I don't think that's necessarily true. If the snow is rubbish you could well regret spending a lot of money or wasting very precious leave time from work. But you don't need to decide yet. You could aim to go the first week in February - best chance of good snow and no crowds.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

brian,
Dunno but the scythe option resolves the dilemma being a recurring one.

Well, I've decided to bite the bullet and I've just booked the flights Very Happy around the first weekend in Feb.

New dilemma is : where should I go Puzzled ??

Les Gets/PDS is probably favourite but I'll probably wait another week maybe to decide.
Anyone done Les Carroz ?

icicle, if I were you, I would wait till they have decent snow before you book the accommodation. Things have to have turned around by Feb... but you never know.

icicle, yes, definitely wait. You have mentioned some of the lowest places around and the slopes in Les Gets are already very poor without the week of tropical sun and Foehn which we are forecast. If you must book now, book Espace Killy or LDA or somewhere like that. First week of Feb is still low season in France, you could probably afford to wait.
