Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

davos - Klosters snow report

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just got back yesterday and feeling very glum about being back in grey ol' London. However, thought I would impart some goodish news about snow conditions in case anyone is heading to Graubunden this week..

There was a reasonable dump of snow during the earlier part of last week, which freshened up the runs significantly, and allowed all five areas of davos klosters to open (Pischa and Madrisa had previously been closed). When the accompanying blizzards and high winds receded, there was some lovely skiing to be had - some runs to resort were open. As the week went on, the temps rose and by Friday and Saturday there was strong sun (temps of 11 deg at 1900 m Shocked ) and some of the lower runs were suffering. However... the higher ones (ie on Weissflujoch and Gotschnagrat) were fine and dandy and I would think will stay that way for a while yet so if you're heading there you should be fine. Lower ones that were open were fine early on in the day - some small patches of grass showing through in places but the bashers are doing their best to patch things up.

On a side issue, Wetterzentrale ensembles were spot on and completely borne out during our trip - I'll use them again when planning trips.

It's a good week since I got back but am thinking about going out for the weekend of 2nd feb, so I've been watching the long-range forecasts. It looks like Davos/ Klosters area could be due a reasonable dump around 23rd Jan - that's going on the Wetterzentrale stats - quite a long way off tho yet .....
