Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sounds like a nightmare, well done getting the site sorted so quickly.

Now how can we catch these little baskets and make them pay for what they've done!?! Twisted Evil

I came here last night, but got the "we'll be back soon folks" message (or words to that effect). Well done Admin, your hard work could probably not be appreciated enough! You work incredibly hard. snowHead Shows the importance of backups - nice one. Smile

What is it with these forum hackers? what is the point? Do they get special points/awards in the Hackers Weekly?

You're not as far off as you might think.

These particular kids have a forum of their own (anyone speak Turkish) where they keep score of how many sites they've each managed to mess up.

Just to add my thanks to all people behind the scenes, and to mention I too have the login problem. Coming to the front news page I'm logged on, but when I click on forums I'm not logged in. Also, it then takes two identical attempts to login i.e. I type in my username / password, click okay - page reloads with me not logged in. Repeat, and I'm logged in. Tres strange! Anyway, not too much of a bother, just thought I would bring it up.

I didn't see the site last night, but I did wonder where the Thompson Lift Pass thread had gone when I first checked this morning!

Yeah, and it seems to be pretty repeatable - I think I've done it a good half a dozen times today, although on my latest test I wasn't even logged on to the news page. My securites are set to low and I can accept cookies - no idea whats going on!

I've tried something but it's a bit tricky when I can't recreate the problem.

Thanks to all for getting things back to normal. Haven't posted much recently and was about to get started when the site went down...
Tell the turkish hackers that if it happens again they definately will NOT be allowed to join the EC. That'll stop them wink wink wink

Hey everyone - did you notice the timeon Admins first post on this thread - that's what I call dedication. Pity we don't have any freindly hackers on our site that could pay a visit to webland somewhere in turkey and repay the compliment - I'm not normally vindictive, but somehow poetic justice seem quite appropriate here.

Think it now considering the main page and the forum page as seperate sites. I also had the loss of log on when navigating between both pages.

Great job in getting the site back up so quickly! Very Happy
