Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anybody out there done the drive from Denver to Crested Butte? As in: how long did it take, is there an off license anywhere on the road? Stuff like that.

We did it last year but were on a transfer thank goodness. The journey from memory was around four hours and the conditions weren't great on the way out the nearer we got to the mountains. The return journey was worse as it dumped around three feet of snow overnight so I was very glad we weren't driving.

To be honest, although both of us are experienced drivers, given the distance and things and how much snow they can get, I would book a transfer every time. There are quite a few companies that do them.

I guess it does depend on the time of year as well though. We arrived on Christmas Eve late in the afternoon so more chances of snow and it was dark. Mightn't be so bad a drive around Easter but then the snow Gods can play havoc with that too.

Enjoy Crested Butte, we had a great holiday there.
