Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

As mentioned in a previous post , i just want to take a moment and mark the passing of The Putnam Station Inn, at Silver Star Resort B.C.
Those who have stayed, eaten and drank there will share my pain. Yes it was a bit faded around the edges but a short ski down main street (after a hard day on Silver Star's 'darkside'
) a quick dump of the ski's and straight into the Wine Cellar....now that was a quality end to a perfect day!
For those who'll get 'misty eyed' at this developement, don't worry it's been taken over by The 'Bulldog Cafe' chain from Amsterdam
......................Smoke anyone?

that's sad news. What's happened to it? We went there in March and our little one
loved
the train that went round the restaurant.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sad news indeed. I guess it didn't fit in with the new 'vision' for Silver Star, there's definately a lot more expansion happening now, which is kind of a shame as we loved its intimate feel. The village size and lack of crowds was part of the appeal. And yes the train was fun
The Wine Cellar, downstairs has got to be one of my all time favourite apres ski bars. As any Snowheads who've 'chilled' there will testify.
We had probably the finest bottle of Red Wine i've tasted anywhere there ( and this subject has been heavily researched over the years
) ...a Mission Hills Special Reserve Merlot, couple this with a roaring fire, good friends and a day skiing the 'Darkside' after overnight freshies..............perfect.
Happy Days ...... i guess next time we visit we'll need our Rizzla's
