Poster: A snowHead

...at least that's what it says on p.141 of this week's issue.
The front cover says this new book reviews "colour piste maps, over 100 top resorts, Europe's 250 best runs, full ski and apres ski reviews, essential snowparks round-up and this season's must-have gear".
Sounds good, and on the strength of their existing travel books I'd expect it to be well researched and detailed. No price mentioned, but the ad. says it's "available now at www.timeout.com/shop "
Can anyone find it there, because I can't?!

Just spoke to Time Out and they're sorry it's not on the site yet (IT team been too busy on another project) they hope to get it on there tomorrow.
It's a brand new guide, this is the first edition so it's all very exciting!
I'm hoping to get my hands on one tomorrow

Time Out guides are usually excellent, but it will have trouble beating the Where to Ski and Snowboard guide, which I have just received a copy of. The content of the introductory chapters is a little weaker this year compared to previous copies I have seen, but it still remains pretty spot on in my view

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The details are now up on the Time Out site...here.
The online price is £6.99, plus postage, which is about half the price of the other guides. Interestingly Time Out has restricted the content to Europe only - possibly a smart move, because it'll go down well in the US on this basis (assuming they're distributing it there too).
So the question is... how it compares with the established guides?

Martin - does it have anything on Taos in this edition? Or Flachau?
They were both places I wanted to read about in the past and the copy I had didn't cover either.

There is a half page onTaos, and also on Wagrain, part of the Ski Welt. Neither deals with accomodation, but at least there is more than the 2002 edition
