When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Buying ski boots at the resort??

is it a good idea buying my very first pair of ski boots the first day at the resort?? Anyone else ever done this??
Do boots need a breaking in period ??? Any advice on good boot fitters in Saalbach?
Every other time I've skiied I've always rented and been very lucky with comfortable boots...........

micksta, buying boots on your first day in resort is an excellent idea, as it gives you all week to get them comfortable. For many people, this is the only way that they would recommend.

I wouldn't buy them anywhere else. Why would you? Get them fitted on day 1, wear them, take them back, get them fitted, war them, take them back, ... . Pick a boot shop near a decent bar, and make sure you like your boot fitter,as you'll probably see of lot of him/her (are there any female boot fitters?).
