Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Turning Colder and snowy (Long term)

"Turning Cold And Snowy
That's right, if you beleive the current computer model forecasts, in fact even most of them, they are showing some cold growing over Central and even Southern Europe. That trough does finally move off to the east, but it get's replaced by a much colder trough digging in behind it. But, for those in Northern Europe, it's going to be much different. The dry and mild weather will move back into the area. More on the forecast below.

The next several days will begin to see a shift towards more of a cooler pattern over most of Europe, but Northern Europe will not be able to enjoy this as there will be a strong ridge holding place. But as this ridge shifts northward, a storm dipping southward over Central Europe will allow both some colder air from Greenaldn to move in and some somewhat cooler air over Russia move through. Yes, I did just say about it being so warm over that area, but it will be cooling down as this storm moves in. This pattern change will begin by early next week, and due to this, there may actually be some chance for snow to fall over the Alps by the holiday time, but there will not be much of a base at the slopes, so this will contineu to be a problem. Some of the international skiing events in Europe havew been cancelled due to lack of cold air and snow, so this colder air may at least help a bit.

For this whole process to develop though, we have to see the cut-off low move off to the north and east, which will happen slowly for the weekend. Once this storm moves eastward, we finally see a strong trough digging over Europe, and as it digs, France will begin to see the cold and some snow may even fall for the Pyrennes Monday into Tuesday. This is when the pattern is trying to change, but even as this trough digs, the ridge of high pressure must move somewhere, and it moves over the U.K. and Ireland. With it in this position, there will be some much drier weather finally pushing into England and Ireland, so no more severe weather warnings should be around for the rain after Saturday. But as this ridge moves in, the mild weather will just continue for the area. But remember, with the high pressure, a northeasterly flow will be over much of Central Europe, and this will allow for plenty of cold air to ooze southwestward. Even into Spain and Portugal will be feeling almost Christmas-like. So those in Lison looking around at all the awesome christmas lights, enjoy them next week with some cooler weather. We might even be lucky enough to keep it cold through Christmas, but I somehow doubt it.

That ridge will just push that future storm over Southern Europe off to the east and north eventually, and I have a feeling with how quick things are moving along over North America, there is little chance for much difference over Europe. But, more on this on Friday as how the cold will set up since so many are interested in the cold, with good reason. If you have any questions, email me at alaneurope@accuweather.com.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Clutching at straws springs to mind, I'm afraid. Yes, there looks to be a slim chance of small amounts of snow before Christmas, but there is also another warm front coming back again by the looks of things.

Oh and does it bother anyone else that this weather "expert" can't even bother learning simple spelling and grammar? Maybe it's just me, but things like "get's" and "Greenaldn" coming from someone who would, no doubt, claim to be well educated, lessens my faith in what I'm reading, to be honest. Yes, before you bother, I know that you don't need to be able to spell to be a weather "expert" but a certain standard of spelling & grammar ability (say that of your average ten-year old at least) is really to be expected on what purports to be a professional service in my opinion. Accuweather should at least edit the darned thing before releasing it to the waiting world...

carled, maybe English is not his first language, in which case it's miles better than anything I could manage in another one? The thread title will have us all reading it, at any rate but I fear you are right....
