Todays trip was to the ski resort of les karellis in the Maurienne valley. There was some rain/snow on the French Italian border from the Haute-Tarentaise south but fine weather over the frontier. Temperatures were fairly mild. From Albanne at 1690m we climbed to la Grande Chible (2932m) and then la Pointe Emy (2797m) across the Moulins valley, about 1750 m climbing and skiing in total. Les Karellis has a couple of pistes open but, well lets face it, everywhere needs something like a meter of snow.
Not too much skiing in the video report, Bruno was too damn fast.

Where Bruno falls in the video is where he hits a great submerged rock, he's a very good skier but the snow was difficult in places.

I've just done a couple this year. Not sure how many I will do, it depends on time (and if it snows again this season ). Bruno has posted a trip report to the French website Skitour.fr

If you have Google-Earth installed you can see a 3D view of the two summits here

To comment some more on the current conditions. There was not much new snow overnight, maybe 10-15cm at 2200 meters over the last 24 hours. At this stage every little helps. I'm sure the high altitude resorts like les Deux Alpes, Tignes and Val Thorens can offer some good skiing but I would advise anyone coming out over the next 2 weeks to take it very carefully on the ski slopes and make sure your edges are in good condition.
