Had enough of the doom and gloom talk on this site so just booked myself a flight leaving tomorrow - it's cheap as chips.
The Sun Screen is packed and the thermals are staying under the bed!
Flaine or Argentiere are the chosen destinations, based on previous experience when not too much snow around.
Anyone got any better suggestions (within 1 hr of Sallanches) then let me know by lunchtime tomorrow.
You all try and stay positive while I am away, I will be back Tuesday with a detailed report from the locals on the exact day snow will arrive - all depends on the mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon and thw wind.

Would personally go for Argentiere, with its glacier. Run back to resort will be dodgy, though, as it often is.

Yeah, enjoy yourself on the invisible non snow.
If you do go to Flaine, then wave as you go past the webcams, as I am forever looking at them and wishing I was there now and not in 5 weeks time.

Actually - looking at the GFS forecast, after the weekend, the GFS forecast is showing temperatures close to 30 year average and reasonable agreement on snow from the 18th.

I'm off myself to Les Carroz/Flaine on the 6am from Easyjet tomorrow a.m. Looks like the pistes (especially in Flaine) are in surprisingly good nick, but off-piste unlikely. I'll wave at the webcams!!!

Hey - how was it out there ? - I'm off at the end of next week - same place (ish).
I'm thinking of spending a day here and there - Did you do a day in each place ?
Would you recommend any place over another ?
Any tips/advice greatly received.
