professorpool, Easter Sunday is Sunday 8th April 2007
Easter IMHO is becoming more popular for skiing each year and therefore no suggestions for question 2.
EDIT: Easter 2008 is a week earlier and theoretically the kids will be off from 22nd March. We are already looking at options for a large group.

kermit, You Muppet
I am sure the Prof is referring to this season rather than this year, otherwise "when WAS Easter" would have been the question.

Aha! Got it!
Good Friday is the 6th April..
Question 2 still applies!

professorpool, Lots of places with snow (usually) especially as it's right at the beginning of April with 3 weeks more of the season to go afterwards. Whether you can find anywhere cheap is another matter.

Frosty the Snowman, have you checked that Easter holidays 2008 will be those dates. I thought it was then that the whole country was meant to be moving to fixed holidays.....or has that plan been dropped again??

Elizabeth B, you are right. I know that for us, Hampshire and Berkshire have the first two weeks of April as holiday regardless of when Easter falls.
This might lead for quiet slopes on the second of those weeks if Easter is early... hmmm, food for thought for 2008

My kids are off 5th-25th April in 2007, 21st March-10th April in 2008.

Elizabeth B, I didn't know about this - sounds the best thing for ages. Very few people actually celebrate the religious festival I would have thought - and of course, it might upset some minorities!!!

professorpool, HappyMouffe and I have been going to Val Thorens in the second week of Easter for the last few years, couldn't tell you if it's cheap - it's definitely cheaper than the previous week if you go for a package...

We've been on the fixed holiday for the past two years. We get Good Friday and Easter Monday, regardless of if they fall in the 1st two weeks of April.

Easter 2007 is Friday 6th April to Monday 9th.
Most tour operators will offer trips either 31st March - 7th April or 7th - 14th April.
The later date will invariably be the cheaper, but obviously more risky regarding snow
