I'm off to Zermatt on 23rd November for some ski-testing. We'll be on the glacier which already has 3 runs open as of now.
I did the same last year and the snow was good, but you never know.

Just back, Gornergrat was open over the weekend, just the Riffelberg chair. Good skiing down to Furg, and great conditions on the glacier. Cervinia opened for the first time on Sunday which allowed lunch in Chalet d'etoile  . These are the best conditions I've seen in Zermatt at this time of year. Refurbed brown cow is nice as well.

Just got back from 3 days in Zermatt... Wed/Thur were bluebird and had decent snow coverage from the snow early in the week. 10-15 cms on Thursday night made Friday epic-ish - especially when it cleared in the afternoon. Still some rocks, etc to hit off-piste, but looking really good! This is from Friday:

It would be unfair not to say something having been here for nearly a week. ... you can put it down to excellent conditions on piste .
Zermat is holding up amazingly well; we all weny out this morning very early and frankly they were the best conditions I've ever skied on from 3800m down to 1600m.....there are loads more people here now than when we seemed to have 3 alps to ourselves a few days ago, so conditions are getting more 'difficult' during the afternoon , but much of that is down to poor piste behaviour as bad snow ! Zermatt would seem to be able to go a few more weeks without snow at these temperatures, but what would I know? ... we've just been lucky ... snowfall then blue skies and little wind ..
Jerry has just left on the train and it was his job to be official photographer (as well as Charlatanefc's chaperone) ...... so you'll have to wait for his input..... this place is awesome ...

Any updates here? I'm starting to get my annual snow neurosis and checking the web cams every 15 minutes just isn't getting it done anymore!
