My friend has talked me through it and says the pass over the road is the point where you must commit to the landing as you can't outfly the hill from there. Its land it or stack it and they get quite a few of those per year, I think.
I don't know how current his rating is... I know he hasn't been there for a few years as I would have flown in with him.
I still fancy this..but I think we should go in with a commercial pilot friend, as backup. The only thing is that after all this 'adventure'
you end up having to ski Courcheval and the 3V's which would be abit of an anti climax IMV. Its probably the reason why we haven't rushed to do it...!!
JT, Are there any steps up from the runway onto the piste. One has to ski into ones hotel for the full effect.
Then you can post your own questions or snow reports...

Frosty the Snowman,
The plane isn't big enough to carry skis...!! A decent holdall is all the 4 peeps will be able to carry so it would have to be a short trip... I can see this isn't going to work and it is an ambition foiled
After all it is free
After all it is free
Good film of a take-off and landing of a PC12 at Courchevel here.

Megeve has a very busy altiport. A bit disconcerting looking down on the aircraft on approach!
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

TimDog, a Mt Blanc circuit from Megève is a great experience.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Do you know of anyone that does air experience flights from Megeve? Apart from one Channel hop with a friend, the last light engine plane I flew was a De Haviland Chipmunk out of Abingdon when I was in the ATC back in the 70's!
