Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

stoatsbrother, JT, I'm not rated for Courchevel but there is a point after which you must land - no go-arounds possible.

Not a ski resort and not a mini airstrip but as the saying goes, any landing you can walk away from is a good one

My friend has talked me through it and says the pass over the road is the point where you must commit to the landing as you can't outfly the hill from there. Its land it or stack it and they get quite a few of those per year, I think.
I don't know how current his rating is... I know he hasn't been there for a few years as I would have flown in with him.
I still fancy this..but I think we should go in with a commercial pilot friend, as backup. The only thing is that after all this 'adventure'
you end up having to ski Courcheval and the 3V's which would be abit of an anti climax IMV. Its probably the reason why we haven't rushed to do it...!!

JT, Are there any steps up from the runway onto the piste. One has to ski into ones hotel for the full effect.

Frosty the Snowman,

The plane isn't big enough to carry skis...!! A decent holdall is all the 4 peeps will be able to carry so it would have to be a short trip... I can see this isn't going to work and it is an ambition foiled Sad

Megeve has a very busy altiport. A bit disconcerting looking down on the aircraft on approach!

Do you know of anyone that does air experience flights from Megeve? Apart from one Channel hop with a friend, the last light engine plane I flew was a De Haviland Chipmunk out of Abingdon Smile when I was in the ATC back in the 70's!
