Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone been in Val D'Isere on New Year's Eve - I'm coming to Val D'Isere for a week over New Year with a group of friends (8 of us in total). We are staying in self-catering accommodation but are wondering what to do for New Year's Eve. Would you recommend booking somewhere in advance? I'd be grateful for any suggestions/recommendations for restaurants, or alternatively, do you think it is better to plan to bar hop and just enjoy a more casual evening ?? If so, how easy would it be to get into bars on the night ??
Thanks for any help !

, .......welcome to snowHeads
- you have just adopted a whole new family....& there's no 7-day cooling off period!
I don't think you will be alone in Val d'Isere.....snowHeads are omnipresent & I have a feeling that some who will be in Val d'Isere at New Year will be along soon......
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

NYE is great in Val!
All the bars will be running parties - make sure you get your tickets early. When i was there for my season we got tickets for the Pacific Bar - although we arrived about 10pm, EVERYBODY left to go on the high street for the bells - great atmosphere! Then returned to the Pacific, got given a glass of champagne, and took it on from there.
As for where to go - all the bars are pretty class, though i remember Dicks was the most expensive option, and im not sure if you could leave then come back in again
Have a good one
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The last time I was in Val for NYE, there was a monumental snowball fight followed by an impromptu firework display in the town center around midnight. I've seen the same thing at a number of resorts, but the Val one was notably busy.
