Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Trampolining/ snowboarding

Does anyone else trampoline? Do you find it helps with freestyle?

I do but I'm fairly pants tbh, however, I don't do tricks on my board and was wondering if there was much cross over in spins and somersaults? The main difference I can imagine is the forward momentum on a board being the exact opposite of what you are trying on a trampoline, however, I was wondering if the basic movement was the same?

Swirly, There's one real problem with trampoline practice in that it trains you 'push' away to initiate a move or tumble rather than wind up and release within a trajectory. There is a cross-over as long as you use the tramp just as an aid to get airtime and learn how to use your limbs to affect body position and spacial awareness. I'm still ok on a tramp . . . but that makes me complete pants and a danger to myself in the park.

A better option would be if you launched yourself off a horse into a 'crash-pit' from a stance that echoes your board position as you leave the kicker.

The problem with trampolining is that it's trampoliig. What that got to do with getting around the mtn ?

Nickski, for some it's to do with getting round the mtn on their board rather than their head

It's good to build your aerial awareness, but it does feel totally different to when you're snowboarding. As Masque says the take off isn't entirely similar either as there is a lot more going on when you take off on a board. What I have seen that looks like it would be good practice is someone on a trampoline with a skateboard strapped onto his feet.

Thanks everyone, pretty much what I thought. I'm not much good on a trampoline anyway. Wonder what they'll say if I ask about using my board on it wink Shocked

Could be interesting although I'm not sure how much fancy it giving that I fell out of the rig the last time I was in it and landed on my neck Skullie rolling eyes Embarassed
