Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any Snowheads out there who used to belong to what I think was called South Wales Ski Club back in the 80s.
I recall going up to the Brecon Beacons to ski, with one of those portable pulley lifts that was set up by the Club, anyone know if they still do it? (not there has been much snow in recent years).

YES!!

sorry no info - but I DO REMEMBER being taken up to the Beacons by my father back in the dark ages and being dragged up on a sort of portable tow involving a generator, a rope and -er -being female I don't remember very much else about the mechanism. I'll check out any other family memories and report back ...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi,
I remember going up there in the 70's . The guy that has the tow is Clive Jenkins , he lives in Mumbles ,
(5 Miles from Swansea). He is still around , and I often see him. ( he was also a brilliant water-skier)

does anyone remember which mountains? I seem to recall going up to the hill below the Carmarthenshire Fan ridges as well as the slope opposite pen y fan on the other side of the Merthyr road - would that be right?
Byron Gates, are you saying that the tow is still in existence? and used?
