Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Board school in Val??

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,
new to the forum, so please be gentle.
I am a skier, but my nephew has converted from skiing to boarding. He's done a couple of weeks on snow, and to me looks OK, but I think he will need more lessons when next we go.
Which brings me on to the question. Can any snowHeads suggest a good school for a 15 year old boarder in Val d'Isere for next Feb?
I can't find any on the web that do group lessons for teenagers as such, which were a hit last time we went away (to Whistler) - that would be ideal. Otherwise, I suppose an adlut group might be the way forward.
Thanks in advance
John

jd, welcome to snowHeads snowHead

It's traditional that I make an early welcome but am completely unable to answer the question asked wink I don't recall seeing teenager ski or boarding classes advertised in Europe - it's either children or adults. However, I suspect an 'adult' class of snowboarders would be predominantly teenagers...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

In the end, we used Evolution 2 and they were fine

Dunno if it's any help but my son was 16 on our first trip and I booked him into an adult group in Val Thorens which was mainly teens anyway.... they don't seem to stick to what's advertised & it was fine - he had a week of morning lessons & then hung out during the afternoon with kids he'd met in the morning.

Smile And welcome to the twighlight zone

I prefer "creature of the twilight" - but then I have been drinking too much hemlock recently.

Misty Fly in Val. I was there the year before last and couldn't get a booking the first day so booked for later in the week and used another instructor instead. Had a lesson with the Misty Fly guy towards the end of the week and there was no comparison - these guys live to board and made everything seem easy....just wish that I'd had that lesson earlier in the week.
