Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Website bias against odd numbers!!!

Perusing the First Choice website and doing some "mock" bookings for quotes etc. I found an annoying thing. I searched for a holiday in France for 6 people for chalets only for certain dates in Feb etc and got, as I expected, some hits. I then remembered that I had 7 not 6 and redid the SAME search (numbers apart, of course). NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE ON GIVEN DATES!!

Mmmm. So if I book for 6 then the flights are on. But If I book for 7 then the flights aren't going. If I book for 8 then the planes decide they are flying again.

So are First choice are bias against odd numbers??????? Because I only get hits if I put in even numbers.

Wouldn't surprise me. Most accommodation is for double occupancy rooms. Even if a single supplement is possible to cover immediate overheads, a room occupied by one body does (edit) not (/edit) present the same on-sales opportunities that full occupancy does.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Perhaps they've even modified their planes this year, instead of 3 seats per row (which is again an odd number) there are either 2 or 4 seats. Must keep everyone/everything in neat little packages!!! Twisted Evil

I wasn't trying to defend the operator - merely pondering on the logic of the computer's algorithm favouring odd numbers.
