stevec, don't try tp please everyone. Book where you fancy going and then tell each person how this resort is good for them.

Pas de la Casa, Andorra, but it's 2.5 hours transfer by coach.
Else it ticks all the other boxes.

stevec, Soldeu in Andorra ? 3- 4 hour transfer is the problem with this one, but can be quite lively and they've upgraded some of the lifts for this season.
Great ski school for beginners and intermediates, with enought to keep all but hte die hard experienced busy (going by our group this year anyway)
couple of good pubs
been 3 times with groups of 6 - 10. any advice I can give let me know

stevec, as others have said, you're never going to please everyone: tell them all where you are going, and they'll either tag along or not!
If the only thing that put you off Livigno was the long transfer, go for Cervinia. Also in italy but much closer to the airport. Neither resort is particularly renowned for advanced terrain, but from Cervinia you do have the option of nipping over the border to Zermatt, which has plenty. Not that expensive, relatively snowsure.

les arcs 1950 or 1800. Fab on all your counts (train to bourg, then just catch the bus 20mins up the hill, lots of self catering ski in/out)

stevec, there is an advantage of being the group organisers - what you say goes if they start giving lots of hassle

stevec, you make no mention of budget or time of year, both factors could influence resort choice. From the info available Courchevel scores highly if you have cash to splash. Also you looking at package or DIY ? If DIY need to consider where you're party are flying from in UK as this can also influence destination. I've organised loads of group trips (mainly to France) so will try to help if you can give us a bit more to go on ....

Thanks for the help so far guys, much appriciated
masmith, budget is farily tight, some of the people going haven't skied a huge amount before and don't want to spend alot. We're prob looking at package, though DIY would be concidered. Ideally flight would be from Birmingham, but we'd concider Manchester, East Mids or Luton if needed.

look at Airtours and Rocketski.
The group I ski with are very similar abilities and Saalbach was pretty good, to avoid the ski buses pay 2 euro each for a ski taxi or do the walk of shame

Am sure you've already done so but check out the group discounts offered by various tour ops - they can make a huge difference to the listed price, last year we got 2 free places in 10 (I think, maybe it was 2 in 12 ???), effectively a 20% reduction. Group discounts tend to be bigger in low season, early/mid Jan is typically the best value. For a group of 8/10 you should be looking for at least 1.5 free places

Try meribel in the three valleys. directski.com have some cheap enough self catering for groups at meribel.

Morzine or PdS in general ticks most boxes ... snow should still be good late Feb/early March, caters for beginners well, lots for advanced too. Short transfers, easily accessible, lots of package holidays.
I think it's Thomson who have packages to St Sorlin and St Jean d'Arves - that's a good budget option catering for most of your needs but can't comment on conditions at that time of year.
Valmorel could be good or anywhere around Paradiski.

I've never booked a group before and to be honest i'm finding it a nightmare
|
stevec, forget DIY. If you are already finding it a "nightmare" ask yourself: do I want to book separate flights, transfers & accom for ten people? Of course you don't. I've organised plenty of groups before, DIY and TO, and would never consider DIY for that many - life is way too short, let the TO organise it for you, especially if this is your first time. Your first DIY trip should be for you and a couple of mates, it is okay when you get the hang of it but too much can go wrong:- do you want 10 people treating you like a rep when something goes wrong? "Where do I buy my ski pass stevec? Where's the hire shop stevec? Where's the transfer coach stevec?" Arrrhhhh indeed!
There are some pretty good ski specialist travel agents out there, give them a call, tell them you want 10 places in a cheap hotel or chalet-hotel, give them the dates (you have agreed dates with the others, right?) and see what they come up with. If you have a short-list of resorts all the better.
I still reckon Cervinia is a good bet. All the major TOs go there so there will be plenty of accom on offer.

Serre Chevalier would be worth a look - ticks all the boxes. Les Deux Alpes as well - I've never been there but I think the best beginner slopes are higher up on the glacier.
I can definately vouch for Serre Chevalier though. Not too expensive in resort either IIRC.

Peter Leuzzi, Schladming is kind of appealing purely becausei had my first ever skiing trip there when i was about 10. No idea what the skiing was like but i had a great time and have been pretty much hooked ever since!
I will keep investigating...
