Poster: A snowHead

The first heavy snow of winter has caught central Europe by surprise this year as temperatures suddenly dropped 20 degrees. About a foot of snow has fallen in St Anton in the last 24 hours.

According to the Austrian papers it snowed almost everywhere in the country. The town of Gmunden is reported as the lowest altitude (427m) to have received snowfall.
40 cm new snow in Sonnblick, 35 cm in Schmittenhöhe near Zell am See, 5-20cm in the Ski Amade region.
In Germany Zugspitze had 40 cm fresh snow, so likely to open in the middle of November.

Frosty, definitely cold here but hasn't been much snowfall. Not enough yet even to start glacier skiing at Laax and Engelberg.
