for those of you who have skied/want to ski at the nevis range you may find this information important.
The government in their infallible wisdom are going to shut the closed A+E department to the nevis range which is in fort william. there is a online petition against it.

the next nearest A+E department is in inverness which as you may well know is a fair distance away. this will mean that there won't be any local help if their should be an injury serious or otherwise. and could be fatal if eth imediate help that is required is forthcoming.
please sign teh petiotin to try and keep the A+E department for all useres of the Nevis Range

Not sure what impact an e-mail petition will have, though. Scottish beuraucrats may suspect sassanach interference in Scottish politics - even thought those of us south of the border feel we have a legitimeate interest.

Nick Zotov, like you I'm not sure how effective it will be as a method of lobbying but it does no harm to give support. Judging by the confirmation email you get back, the thing seems secure and well managed. I thought it might be a scam (no disrespect, Capt Chris, but you were a newbie and just might have had evil plans).
If you pay taxes, you can have your say about the NHS for any area. I don't - so you can argue my support is invalid.
