Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Public transport in Arabba

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have looked at the tourist office web site but can't find any refrerence to public transport, bus or coach, services between Arabba and Cortina/Corvara etc.

Do any snowHead s know if such services exist or would we need to get a taxi if we wanted a day trip to ski Cortina ( I know we can ski to Corvara but Mrs CP does not ski ).

TIA

Why not e-mail the tourist office about bus or coach (they are a bit slow answering in my experience but they do answer), or phone them on 0039 (0)436 780019 (not sure if you dial the 0 I put in brackets) They speak some English.
For taxis see my entry in the Milan Arabba thread.

Sorry public transports very thin on the ground in the area
There are plenty taxis about Arabba
To Cortina is a fair distance could be a bit costly

Thanks both,

Seems to confirm my thoughts.................

We are on a package ( boo hiss ) so will not be hiring a car for a week, my Wife does not ski anymore ( she broke her leg big time a few years ago which resulted in a bone infection ) so I am looking for trips for her so we can meet her for lunch etc. It would be good to get to Cortina for a day and Corvara looks good if I remember correctly from my last ( solo ) visit to the Sella Ronda.

Best bet is probably to visit to tourist office when we get there and make the best of what is available - the TO may well do an organised Cortina trip anyway so no probs.

Cheers

CP These might be useful - I used the SII site to find a transfer from Bolzano station to Selva Gardena. I don't think Dolomitibus goes far enough north for you.

I know nothing about the services but will find out over Christmas - flying Bristol - Venice, train to Bolzano, bus to Selva to meet up with 3 of my brothers, their partners and their hordes of kids for a (hopefully) white Christmas. They're all driving down but I couldn't face that journey with the kids!
