Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We had a lift problem today, so couldn't get up the mountain. Hopefully this has been fixed by now. It's been raining lightly for about 3 hours, and is a little colder (although still very mild for the time of year), so hopefully it's snowing up top. No wind at all here - but that doesn't mean much. Very Happy

Well - we got up the mountain today by a mixture of routes involving a very long queue at the bottom of the 8 man chair (which could only run in 2 sections rather than straight up) and which could only take 3 at a time with skis on our laps! Happily the Jandri Express is fixed now. Very Happy It was brassic cold, with a stiff northerly wind and a small dusting of snow. the snow was hard but grippy in the morning, but got a bit polished as the day wore on. The upper runs were fine though, but the last bit down to the resto was a skating rink at 16.15! {b]Eng ch[/b] and Mr did a really good job considering how ghastly it was. However it was brilliantly sunny all day and not too crowded, the majority of skiers at the moment are race clubs, so they're pretty good, and it's so nice to watch good skier after good skier come down. Sorry, had camera but forgot photo. Sad

Even colder today and the wind was so strong that they couldn't run the T bars first thing. The resto was full to bursting! The wind did drop just to seriously unpleasant levels around 10.00 and from then on nearly everything ran, but the snow was very hard indeed, moving to full on icy by late afternoon. It's very cold this evening too. However, all moaning apart, it was sunny and clear, so hoping the wind will drop tonight and the weather will stay good for the rest of the weekend. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Looks like that for a week at least. It should warm up for them slightly as the weekend progresses.

Well I didn't ski at all today, but apparently I missed the best day of all. Hardly any peeps (frightened off by the lift problems yesterday and the cold weather I guess), seemingly the ice wasn't as icy as previous days, and those that went up had a really good time. Blue skies natch!

The lift carry-on was a bit of a pain yesterday though as the top part of the Jandri Express had broken again. We went up and down on the 8 man chair (down was a bit scary), which meant slightly longer queues, but actually nothing like last Weds. Unfortunately they then had a minor breakdown on the first part of the Jandri Express, so we ended up waiting at 2,600m for about an hour to get on either the JE (working again) or the cable car to the Cretes. From the Cretes we came down on the white eggs with fab views of LDA at night. Bit dark etc. but very pretty. All was well in the end as they worked all night and got both legs of the JE working for this morning. No-one got lost up the mountain, so although a pain there was no drama. Madeye-Smiley
