opened my ski season today at loveland. four inches of new snow had fallen overnight and it snowed very hard all day.
the next six days are forecasted for fairly heavy snow in the colorado mountains.
at this rate it is shaping up to be a pretty decent season.
it was good to be back on snow.
loveland and a-basin both have superb early season snow according to all accounts.
btw we decided today if a-basin and loveland ever interconnect over the pass an apt name might well be........love-a hoe!

none.....in fact took several new skis out to demo and at days end the bases were perfect. typically the first turn on the catwalk off chair #1 can be a problem, however, i didn't see so much as a pine cone in the corner.

Rusty Guy, I was hoping you'd say it was awful so I wouldn't want to go up there! My new job doesn't start until nov 1st and I've very little to do until then! Do you know of any very cheap motels up there? Might as well pay for somewhere nearer the resorts rather than staying down here in Glenwood Springs!

i think everything would be cheap right now. i would focus on georgetown or frisco. it is so bad i'm headed back tomorrow. keep in mind it is just 1000 feet of vertical.
i'm usually not a huge fan of early season skiing, however, this is good. my guess is they will have appreciably more terrain open in the next ten days.

I'm booked in here until Sunday so it's not worth moving until then. I think I'd better get my skis tuned, sounds like I might need them!

You lucky people - I've only ever been to A-Basin once, but it was one of the best days I've ever had! Such a good atmosphere too.
