Sorry, but once again, I hate to be the bearer of bad news......the "Boot Pub", icon of Whistler, closed it's doors forever this past spring. The "Shoestring lodge", attached to the boot pub, and "Gaiter's bar and grill", are also now only memories of a bygone era......sniff.
Developers are going to level the entire complex (although nothing's happend yet- it's just boarded up). Build condos, etc. It's an extremely valuable chunk of realestate, so on one hand it's surprising that it lasted as long as it did, but most locals were still sad to see it go.
(and for the people who don't get the subtle "wink, wink" from stuarth and the fox hat.....the boot pub was host of the infamous "Das boot ballet" strip show, and the even much more infamous, amateur night, held once annually.)
For Karaoke you'll need to hit the "Crystal lounge", located in the Crystal lodge, on a Monday evening.
