Yup.
Last season the Bride & Groom got married atop Whistler Mountain, guests then variously made their way down by skis, snowboards, snowmobiles, and of course the gondola.

I believe this is done on a reasonably regular basis atop the Schilthorn in Muerren...
The decent (by non gondola means) from there won't be for all the quests though, as its pretty damn black...
Mind you, the Schilthorn, assuming good weather, is an astonishing place.

Loveland (CO) does them. I think a few of the resorts round Tahoe area do them too.

The Schilthorn would, indeed, be a winning location.
Blofeld could be best man.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Blofeld!? Crikes, a handsome chappie like that could woo my bride away quick smart. Too risky. I think Jaws is the man for the job, just in case Granny encounters cable car complications during her descent...

I got married at the Eagles Nest, in Vail. Didn't ski down - it was late afternoon/sunset, but we did ski all day. In powder. And the guy who married us also worked as a lifty, he bumped a chair for us earlier in the day, and called out 'Am I still marrying you this afternoon?' Followed by a cocktail/dinner party for family and a few close friends.
It was a truly memorable, unique, personal day. I highly recommend it.

You know it makes sense.

My first wedding was on the upper deck of Midchalet restaurant in Mammoth. We then skied down. It was just my wife and I though, no family. We had the photographer and the lift attendant as witnesses.
Second wedding was a more traditional affair in a registry office, in Lanersbach just below Hintertux with family in attendance. The backdrop made some great pictures.
As mentioned above, it makes for a unique and memorable day.

Laugh out loud!
Great to hear your personal tales folks! Magical memories I'm sure.
Hey a possible remedy Ski - time the wedding for close of last lift up the mtn, make it a relatively snappy affair and then carve on down in solitary blissful harmony! Granny et al would have to take their skis too though

White Gold, You need to PM Snowangel - she got married at the top of their mountain last year and then they all boarded down together. Friends of mine got married water skiing in Martinique (really - I've seen the video).

I dont reccomend marriage anywhere, let alone at the top of a mountain.
One fairly cheap holiday, one very expensive divorce lol
Not that I'm bitter and twisted at all

Sorry to hear that Adam - hope you can iron out those twists on the pistes
Maybe your ex detested the cold and all things snowy though? Just testing my theory...
Cheers all.
