dbiggins, I'd love to see that for myself, but I am sure you're totally fed up with it all and think that I'm toally bonkers. Good Luck with the digging, and I hope you and yours are all OK.

and it looks awfully flat around Cadillac... |
Funny you should say that.
I was just looking at the pictures from just last weekend with our fall colour tour.
This is a picture from my east yard.
Not so flat, wish the picture could do the actual scenery justice.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

comprex, I've been to Virginia a few times. You've got some mighty big hills. The colour is fantastic.

crazy_skier_jules, that's my neighbor. Thanks. My farm house is much more plain, but still historic and beautiful. I really love the area around me, very scenic.

SnowHot, looks cold and nasty!
I didn't realise Michigan had ski resorts, American geography (and weather) is pretty broad brush for me...

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Hoppo, Crystal Moutain is where I spend most of my time, and I think ssh grew up skiing at Crystal. Although I do a lot at Caberfae peaks (small freindly hill)because they do a lot for our young people to get them interested. As always Nubs Nob and Boyne are great fun, if you're going to go to an easy place in the Lower Penninsula. The UP offers some bigger terrain. I just don't make the trip up there.
Lots of options in Michigan.
