Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow

Following a recent report in the Sun about snow on the Zupspitz, here's a WeatherOutlook mention of snow depths over the last few years:

Quote:
Sonnblick-Austria (3105m) 0°C light snow. Current snow depth 340cm . Not as amazing as it first sounds but more snowy than normal at this time of the year. Recent data:

15th July 2003 snowdepth: 130cm
15th July 2002 snowdepth: 110cm
15th July 2001 snowdepth: 400cm!
15th July 2000 snowdepth: No data
15th July 1999 snowdepth: 230cm

Not exceptional but better than recent years, although it should more or less go totally in the next few weeks.

Just as a comparison as it was Germany that was mentioned. Here's the equivalent snow data for 15th July for Zugspitze (2962masl). Currently 1ºC and foggy with 200cm of of snow:. Recent years:

15th July 2003 snowdepth: less than 40cm (if any) 45cm on 6th July
15th July 2002 snowdepth: c.100cm
15th July 2001 snowdepth: 120cm
15th July 2000 snowdepth: 210cm
15th July 1999 snowdepth: 322cm
15th July 1980 snowdepth: 385cm

And back to the first year on the records:
15th July 1940 snowdepth: 25cm
