Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Need advice on this resort. Thinking of joining some friends on a ski trip to Maria Alm on the last weekend of March.
I have reservations with the snow conditions at this time of year to a resort that is only 800 metres high. I have skied in Muhlbach before but that was in January.
Anyone been here and care to share their views on the place, particularly late season?
The SCGB historical snow shows good coverage at that time last year but the next week had lost half the bottom slope and 50cm from the upper. That suggests that my week last year would have been pure slush!

The area is lovely but only been early season - agree it seems risky that late? If you get the snow though it's a great area, especially if you'll have a car for trips.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've only skied Maria Alm/Muhlbach/Dienten at mid Feb and early March, but the snow is often better than in other nearby resorts with similar altitude ie. Saalbach, Zell, St Johann etc, plus you've got the Gasteins, Kaprun and Schladming glacier not too far away if it's a write-off. Anyway slush is the next best thing to powder IMHO - if you don't love it you obviously haven't skied it enough!
