Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Help needed please RE: Atomic M:9 Puls Metron

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I am interested in buying a brand new pair of the above ski's (Atomic M:9 Puls Metron). They don't have bindings fitted currently and I was wondering if there was any reason why my bindings from my current Atomic skis wouldn't fit. The bindings are the Atomic Device 310 model.

Any help in the matter would be very appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave.

I'll be very interested in the answer to your question, d2dja. I'm not clued up with this.

I used to work in a ski shop in the late 70s, and was equipment editor of a British ski magazine from 1983 for about 10 years. Historically, all ski bindings have been interchangeable with all skis - which is an excellent way of reducing the monopolistic/cartel tendencies of the ski and binding manufacturing industries. There are few enough brands already, wielding far too much power and price control.

If we're now in a state where only some bindings will fit only some skis, it's a nonsense in my humble opinion. Consumers have only themselves to blame for suckering themselves into 'integrated systems', which are unnecessary.

d2dja, I'm not an expert on bindings but do have a pair of M9's about 2 years old. They came with Atomic Neox 310 bindings which sound very similar but I'm sure one of the "techys" on here will clarify.

That is a good question! I have seen many pairs of the Izor skis advertised with either the Atomic Device or Neox bindings. If they are interchangeable on the Izor line I cannot imagine why they would not be interchageable on the Metron line. That being said the Neox is the better binding but if you already have the Device binding it seems like you would be safe.... sorry for the generalities Smile
