Bryan, I did get them to turn it round so I could see the building, I'll have another word and see if they can sort out the focus.

I wrote a script to take a snapshot of a few webcams last year.... granted a few need to be debugged but looking at the early season works (oct - dec 2005)

Does anyone watch alpen panorama on 3sat which is available on the old analogue satalite have you seen the lift man at Berwang come out and wave to the camera in the winter season? I watch most mornings as well as webcam watch Glad to know I am not the only one with a problem! Perhaps we could start web cam watchers anono

The Swiss channels cover the Swiss resorts and some cities every morning, and the Austrian channels cover the Austrian resorts - complete with oompah music, it's trangely compelling!
Who doesn't / wouldn't webcam watch? Bit of a no brainer

RG, I wondered where that webcam went. They should replace it as it was the best ad for Plagne Centre.

you cant really watch the broadcast but you can select cameras to see...
I, just by chance, selected the Mayrhofen one and was pleasantly surprised to see a thin layer of white stuff!

Super Eagle, how do you get those channels?

Markus, I am fortunate to have a motorised dish system as well as a Sky dish.
These channels are on Astra 19.2 degrees. Which is what sky used to be on befor it went digital. Then you could get these channels through you standard Sky and is why you could also view lots of other european channels. Now Sky is broadcast from Astra 28.2 degrees which is further East.
You can by a mount which fits onto your existing sky dish which will accept two to four LNB units. Your existing LNB still points to Astra 28.2. the other LNB is then set to point to Astra 19.2.
This is not an expensive addition to your existing equipment and a good independant satellite shop would be able to advise you and install the equipment.
If you are truely interested you could PM me and I'd be happy to advise you of which satellite shops are available in your area.
P.s ORF is encrypted but Sat 3, TW1 and another German station are free to air

I'm afraid we start watching the webcams at this time of year too
At the moment we're concentrating on Tignes (glacier) but will be switching to Courchevel and 3V generally after that prior to heading out in January.

IncogSkiSno, boredsurfin -
Finding the boarder threw me for a minute as well. I spent many many minutes searching right around the middle of the ski-run, looking for a boarder sitting on their laurels taking up as much piste as possible. No joy. I couldn't spot a hoard of boarders stretched out horizontally across the piste either, hence further visual confusion.
And then I saw the camouflaged boarder.
Darn that fancy fabric works well. Luckily your photo was not taken amongst foliage.
Cheers me snowies
