Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Club Med ski pass refund

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

Anyone have any experience getting a ski pass refund from Club Med?

Summary:
One of our party was injured shortly before the trip and couldn't ski.
Club Med volunteered to process the ski pass refund process for us. Medical evidence provided etc.
The trail went cold. On chasing them they have offered a "goodwill gesture" of £124, substantially below the sticker price on the pass, which is €400.

So if anyone has had a similar experience I'd like to hear and learn whether it's worth pursuing or if I have more chance of getting blood out of a stone.

Thanks for listening to my gripe.

@Big Sim, if the lift pass is an inclusive part of the holiday , I doubt it would be costing Club Med 400€ which might explain the discrepancy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Particularly given the volume at which Club Med must be purchasing passes in various resorts - leading to a huge discount / special relationship with the lift companies.

I've had non skiing family stay with us in Club Med on a trip - they get a lift pass even if they don't ski. It is not refundable if they don't use it. There is no non-skier rate at Club Med, it's part of the package they sell.

I think the goodwill gesture they have offered is incredibly generous and I would take it.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Would you not just get a refund of the whole package?

@Nadenoodlee, I'm assuming the person went on the trip but didn't ski.
