Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Arcs 2000 Best Ski Hire Shop - please help!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all, I'm heading back to Les Arcs this Saturday for a week and wondered where people highly rate for performance ski hire?

I was there last year and used Skiset La Trace at Arc2000 and the Skis were okay, but didn't really blow me away. There easnt much choice either.

I'm looking for something all mountain but a bit wider underfoot to cope with the spring slush and have heard decent things about the Equilbre pro shop in Arc2000.

Does anyone have any suggestions please as im stressing myself out just looking at stock photos of carvers on every site!

I have used Equibre, they were helpful but I was just using piste skis, no comment on all mountain selection.

The ski shop at Hôtel Taj-I Mah Arc2000 has Stockli all mountain skis, at a price. Last January staying in 1950 I had booked Stockli but they didn't have my size and gave me Lacroix instead. Unfortunatley I had left my Bognor ski gear at home.

Would you say they were "better" than a regular shop for brands/selection?

I had a look there and they do seem pricey but I've never been on a Stockli.

I would like something just a bit better than normal rental stuff that can be hit and miss but overwhelmed tbh.

@K2Punk, sorry for late reply. I can say I ski better when I've hired Stockli. How much is real vs just believing because of the name/price I'm not sure. But for an extra 100 euro or something I think they are worth having for a week so you can judge yourself.

As for the ski shop at Taj-I Mah they are geared up for hotel guests who make up the majority of renters. So it's not a huge shop. But they were fine for me.
