Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Resort advice… again!

Just finishing a 9 day trip to Les Arcs 1950. Great conditions and very convenient with 3 kids.
Obviously I’m planning the next ski trip before I’ve even got home Very Happy

Can I have some resort ideas please?

For context:
- 3 kids who will be on week 3 of skiing next year, happy on all blues, nice reds.
- ski in/out a bonus
- good food (not overly keen on French food!)
- either mid December or late March skiing)
- would love to try Austria, Italy, or Andorra even
- pretty if possible
- easy to get around (see 3 kids and carrying equipment!)

Any thoughts? I’d love to get away from France but should I stick with it whilst kids are still learning?

TIA

France has no monopoly on taking care of kids! Serfaus would be great. With their subway, almost no walking. Alta Badia would be good too. "Pretty" is an understatement for the Dolomites. Mid December is a bit of a crap shoot though; I'd shoot for (and I go in) mid-late March. Better weather too.

Stuben looks ideal but sadly I’d need 2 rooms for 3 kids so too much!

Mid December is pretty early, but for Austrian resorts, that is usually a few weeks in to the season, things tend to open here earlier than a lot of French resorts for example.

If you're after good food, it depends what you mean, but I'd hardly class Austrian food as good, it's just very similar to traditional English food.

For good food, the only answer is Italy, and for me the answer for you is Pila. With those dates it'll be virtually empty.

Ski in ski out very common, Italian food (can't go wrong), Italian food prices (you'll feel like a millionaire vs Les Arcs), and if you wanted there's an English ski school based there albeit you'd be looking at private lessons rather than groups.

@lucyskilucy, not sure Andorra would be a great choice looking at your list of wants. Food off the mountain is very good. Food on the mountain is generally a bit meh. Nearly every place is owned by the ski resort and therefore a bit samey. There’s also not much ski in/ski out.

Mid December or late March are also questionable to commit this far out. We’ve had a great season this year at both ends of it, bit it’s not a given.
