Girlfriend & I are off to Mayrhofen, anyone got any recommendations for bars, restaurants etc?
A long weekend trip this time
Finish work 1800, straight from office to Heathrow for 2020 flight to Munich
Nice drive to Mayrhofen and then skiing Friday through till Monday afternoon, then driving back for a 2130 flight back

Assuming you go up and down on the Penken lift, some popular bars will be very obvious to you. Next to the lift is the Ice Bar, opposite is the Happy End and also the butchers shop which is a popular apres ski hang out.
Turn right after coming out of the Penken lift and walk up the main road and across the river and you'll get to the Bruck n Stadl for arguably the best apres ski in town.
Other popular bars are the Scotland Yard and Mikes sports bar.
Plenty of restaurants in town, Mo's is fairly popular for generic burgers pizzas etc etc at a reasonable price. I've always had a nice meal in the Edelweiss. El Toro gets a good rep for steaks.

If you want to go "full Austrian" in the evening worth trying to get a booking at Wirtshaus zum Griena. Tucked up a bit out of the way but in a traditional old farmhouse and great menu of traditional dishes, some with a twist, and always cooked really well.
And if you want a post-ski cake, Kostner well worth a visit.

Goldkind is nice food - but small so you'll need to book.
Good pizza at Manni's hotel.

Def go to the Penken board park for pizza and often they have a DJ. Lovely if sunny. Kaiser Mendl also has apres now on a friday. Sometime Scheekar hutte has a dj on the deck. Very chilled.
You may also encounter Snow bombing. Can be a bit raucous on day 1 but after that they are typically in bed until after lunch. Good vibes on the mountain.
