Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

bladeskier, I don't think SMALLZOOKEEPER does part exchanges. I tried part exing Mrs PhillipStanton for a Mammut jacket at the weekend and he was having none of it...

Anyway, (having no managed to secure a Mammut jacket instead) Mrs PhillipStanton and I are doing our BASI 3s in Morzine all season - which I'd count as "sort of local". It's certainly close enough to join in any adventures on offer...

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

bladeskier, I was there about 20th Jan last year and the Grands Montets lift was not open - although was due to open that weekend (but didn't due to high winds). The Vallee Blanche was "open", but the guide offices were extremely reluctant to take anyone up there they didn't know as the arrete was not equipped, and you had to swear on the bible that you were godlike on skis and knew which way up crampons went etc. That was probably a bit of a late opening season though.

Will probably squeeze a weekend in some time early season.
