Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Megeve or……?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Am currently in Les saisies and am planning on visiting a couple of other resorts nearby for a days ski

Megeve isn’t too far away, is it worth a look and if so is there a good place to access rather than driving into Megeve centre ?

Any other ideas greatly appreciated

Why not stay put?

There is a back road that you can take from Praz-sur-Arly to get to the bottom of the Rochebrune lift but I haven't tried it, If I'm driving there is is to go either to Combloux or Cote 2000 which means going through the centre of Megeve.

@rjs, a lot of area is shut so , maybe about a third and we skied it all in 4 days, so thought we’d have a look around as we have the car…..

If you have a car, I’d recommend Les Contimens at this time of year

There are lifts shut in Megeve and Les Contamines too, final day for Princesse tomorrow.

I could ski in Megeve for three days with my pass but haven't bothered.

If determined to go somewhere else, I'd go to Les Contamines (check what's open, obvs). Drive down to Hauteluce then along to Belleville - DON'T drive all the way round via Megeve. Alternatively you could try Areches Beaufort - drive via Villard sur Doron and Beaufort. Again, check what's open.

As @Origen says, Les Contamines by the Hauteluce "back door" is an obvious day out from Les Saisies. I haven't checked what is open currently, but my guess is that the Veleray sector (two drag lifts serving mainly black runs) is the bit that is closed. There is lots of fun to be had elsewhere.

For anywhere else you pretty much have to go through Megeve town unless you are prepared to hunt out @rjs's back road. It is the last week of the season, and although this has been a better season than the last couple some of the lower lifts will be closed. And I think also the top two onto Mont Joly. Usually all of the Combloux sector finishes early too.
