I've some interesting options for a short five day trip. Happy cruising reds, don't do off piste. How good is it

Been there two or three times for SIGB ski tests and it's a great location for three or so days, thoroughly recommend!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Skied at Kuthai for a day. It was small but fun. Lift pass can also be used at nearby Hoch-oetz
I liked it - but imho Stubai or Axamer Lizum are better options in Innsbruck area

It's good for a day, especially in the spring because its higher than most places locally, except for Stubai. Hoch–Oetz gives you another day for a short bus ride. If you have a car, the road up to Axamer Lizum can be accessed directly from the end of the valley from Kühtai, so it's not actually that far to drive. I'd guess about 40 min. Heading in the other direction you have Hochzeiger, resorts around Imst, or even St Anton or Ischgl are under an hour.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Decent small ski area but I found the runs quite samey. Basically a bunch of very similar red runs all coming back into the same place. Nothing wrong with them, they're decent runs but only 500m or so of vertical so feels like you're on a bit of a rinse and repeat loop.
It is very convenient at 35 mins from Innsbruck though.
We went for a 4 day trip and the best day was actually at Hochoetz on the free bus down the valley. Small, but realy nice varied runs.

Thank you all. Sounds very suitable, just got to persuade myself to spend the money!

I completely agree with@frosty75, I thought Khutai would have more to offer than Hochoetz, being higher and with more kms of piste but HO had a far greater variety of skiing imho. Put the two together (both share a lift pass and free bus link) and you have a pretty reasonable late season, half week’s trip on your hands!

I agree, but if you take into account the off-piste potential, it offers a whole lot more.

Back from a five day trip. Fantastic two days sunny blue skies and one good day when it clouded over and snowed a bit. Superb snow and pistes mostly. A few slushy patches in the afternoon on the northern side in Kühtai. Went to Hochoetz second day for a morning and stayed all day it was that good.
