Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Buying beam deflectors in France

So, we got a different type of beam deflector and the one has already fallen off on day one

Obviously it’s Sunday so most places are shut - is anyone aware of a large hyper market that will be open between Troyes and La Plagne? otherwise it will have to be a trusty gaffa tape DIY job lol Razz

Hubby annoyed as he cleaned all the previous sticky off to fit these new ones so now it’s not obvious where the previous eurolite ones were.

Sometimes the headlights are marked to show where you should tape over.

And if you have modern LED headlights you may not need deflectors at all

Just dont bother. I have not used them in over 10 years. When I walk round a car park in Meribel no other British car has them. When I was stopped by the Gendarmes for a routine check a couple of years ago they checked all my lights were working but did say I needed beam benders.

The only supermarket chain that will have large stores open is Intermarche, but only this morning.

Carrefours may be open too, just google Hypermarché Troyes for nearest one, but you may not even need them depending on the age of your car.

Do they even sell them in Europe? Loads of Euro tourist cars driving over here don’t seem to have them

Only used them on our first trip back in 2007 and one fell off at some point, never bothered since and not had a problem of people flashing us as others have said dont see them.on uk cars. I do have a set in the car just in case though.

Unfortunately we have a 2015 Zafira - so no automatic adjustment. Can’t justify a new car for fancy lights and we’ve just put 4 new all weather tyres on it Laughing

I did bower justify another 2-3 weeks skiing on the basis of we change the car next year we might as well get more miles out of the tyres beforehand Razz

Nice job! We had a Zafira too - my OH did faff with deflectors a few times over the years (have a vision of him doing it on Eurotunnel, squeezed between the cars) but mostly, and over the years, we didn't bother. Just tried to be as careful as possible with the lights.

@ScaredySki, you might be able
Find an online figment pdf for the ones you get at Halfords and just tape up with masking tape.

I arrived on the other side of the tunnel last trip and had forgotten, so used the up/down headlight adjuster and just set it at its lowest. Was fine.
