Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Easter Drive - Decent stop offs

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello Snowheads!

We are driving down from London on the 27th and back on the 5th. Normally we stop off at Reims or Tinquex, but I would love some suggestions - looking to perhaps get a bit further down so we have broken 70% of the journey, looking similar for the way back on the Sat.

I would love some recommendations for not too far off the motorway hotels. We would love perhaps some good food or interesting sights so we can make it feel like more of a fun part of the holiday rather than just a schlep down to the main attraction! Ideally with Tesla charging and something to entertain the teens.

Thoughts welcomed.

On a side note, I was horrified by the Eurotunnel costs - its a far cry from when I last purchased 10 tickets for £590!!

We just drove down to La Plagne mid January and got to Beaune on the first leg which I felt was about right for us. It left about 4 hrs the following morning to get into the resort via Lyon Chambéry Moutiers stopping to buy some supplies en route.
Can’t help re accommodation as we were self sufficient in our T6 Camper.
Return journey we set of early around 0530 and did it in one go back home in Devon by about 2100

@Snowtrain, I am just looking at similar for our trip in March. I agree totally about the Eurotunnel costs spiralling. We do have quite a comprhensive thread on this here https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=28639 there may be something to suit. I'd recommend Troyes, Nuits-St-George and Beaune. No idea about Tesla charging there there though.

As above, Troyes, (Tesla supercharger in saint parres aux tertres) or Beaune (several Tesla superchargers around there) on the way down and St Quentin (supercharger near a huge Auchan supermarket) on the way back.

All the above are quite close to B&B Hotels or Ibis hotels and restaurants etc and just off the motorway

Thankyou. Have just googled Troyes - looks very pretty! In fact, so does Beaune and NSG.

@Snowtrain, if you like traditional French food try Au Coq Bleu, 10 rue Carnot in Beaune. Probably need to book in advance though.

Was about to say Beaune- and Ibis ideal. There is a massive hypermarket 5 mins away that we stocked up in last Xmas.
We wondered into town- 5 min walk and had a fabulous meal - escargots and steak frites all round. I will try and dig out which restaurant. It was really not expensive.

We booked ahead but we were a table of 13. Wine was superb as well. We had a beer in the first bar we walked past on the way into town.
It was a great night and brilliant start to the holiday.

In Beaune don’t miss out on this restaurant, it’ll surpass any other recommendations by a country kilometer.
